1. I realize Pharma is a noble profession.

4. While I am working in Pharmacy from design to formulation development, testing, quality control and marketing, I realize any flaw knowingly or unknowingly will result into a loss of human life.

1. Role of Pharmacist in Vision 2020
Work for exporting 50 billion dollar export by 2015. Prevent spurious drug. Make medicine available at affordable. We should constantly innovate and facilitate cost effective production for both national and international market.

2. Steps needed for Pharma Vision 2020
We should empower the Pharma industry to go into molecule to drug formulation through public-private partnership mode. From the license production, we should enter into value added innovative drug development. We should also focus now on nano medicine, it’s design, development and manufacturing. We have to capture large share in Generic medicine market and focus on specific special medicines. Hence it is essential to create Health city infrastructure in 5 zones in the country, which will empower the Pharma industry to achieve its vision 2020.

3. The growing inequality between the rich and the poor; the lack of inclusive growth.
We should achieve the following missions with determination:
a. Quality and value based Education for all
b. Entrepreneurship with skill oriented education
c. Higher education with directed research
d. Encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship with venture capital funding so that our Indian entrepreneurs can compete Globally
e. Nationalize the rivers and creation of statewide waterways system
f. Safe drinking water to all
g. Quality health care for all
h. PURA for enriching the rural areas and bridge the rural urban divide.
i. 3 Phase electricity availability to all the village hamlets.
j. All weather road even to remotest corners of the country
k. Justice for all at greater speed.
If we follow the above steps, we can certainly increase our competitiveness, human development index and innovation index.
Ultimately, we should measure our growth with NPI (National Prosperity Index) = GDP + Lifting the people who are below poverty line and provide productive value added employment there by increasing the percapita income + Adaptation of Value system in the human life.
NPI will give you how each government has spent its mandate to bring inclusive growth in the society and bring equitable growth in the country.

Science gives material benefit and religion gives spiritual way of life.

6. Reservations in the national institution and its long term consequences, what is your opinion?
We should make reservation meaningless. How to do that? We should think of out of the box solution. Let me narrate what I visualize.
a. We need to increase the GDP contribution to education from the present less than 3% to 6%.
b. We should focus on creativity at the primary school level and imbibe the value system among the children before 17 years right from the pre-primary.
c. We should generate good quality input at the school system
d. Increase the seats in higher education by reforming the university system with proper needed infrastructure, attractive to the quality lecturers, and empowering them with autonomy on syllabus.
e. Higher education system should focus on innovation, research, entrepreneurship with the supportive venture capital system leading the knowledge products and systems for the global market.

In a knowledge society we have to develop creative mind leading to innovative mind and finally an empowered mind.

8. When India will be called as a developed country? Why does it still called to be a developing country?
We need to uplift 220 million people from the below poverty line, achieve 100% literacy, provide productive employment and triple the percapita income of the citizens of India, bridging the rural and urban divide through the implementation of PURA.
We are in the mission of transforming our nation into a developed nation before the year 2020. We are progressing and certainly we will achieve the target.
If every one of you decide that “I can do it”, then “We can do it”. Certainly India will do it before the year 2020.

9. Biotechnology and pharmacy is increasing at rapid pace, but there is a shortage of medicine to the people, so how a common man gets medicines at cheaper rate?
Our production has to increase. Hospitals can be given medicines without costly packaging in bulk form, particularly far generic fast moving medicines. Application of nano technology can reduce the dosage to 1/10th further reducing the cost. |
